Senior Forward Deployed Engineer – Fullstack

About the role

As a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer you will partner with customers to design, build and productionize data and AI solutions on the Databricks platform. The role blends hands‑on engineering with customer interaction, requiring both deep technical expertise and strong empathy for client needs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead production‑grade customer projects, designing and building reference architectures, custom applications, data ingestion pipelines and ML/AI model integration.
• Guide strategic customers through end‑to‑end big‑data and AI implementations, collaborating with engagement managers to scope technical delivery.
• Own architecture decisions to ensure solutions are secure, scalable and aligned with Databricks best practices.
• Embed with customer teams, working with stakeholders from engineers to executives to understand challenges and deliver impact.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms, analytics or software engineering.
• Proven ability to manage technical projects, define scope, timelines and measurable outcomes.
• Strong communication and documentation skills, able to translate complex concepts into actionable solutions.
• Willingness to travel up to 20 % of the time to customer sites.

Required skills

• Programming in Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) – expertise in at least one.
• Deep knowledge of Apache Spark and its runtime internals.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, MLOps, ML/AI models and AI APIs.
• Databricks certification (preferred).
