Senior Foundation Engineer – Drive

About the role

Proton is looking for a Senior Foundation Engineer to shape the core of Proton Drive. You will design, implement and maintain cross‑platform SDKs that power desktop, mobile and web clients, ensuring privacy‑focused storage works seamlessly for millions of users.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and develop core C#, TypeScript and Rust libraries that form the backbone of Proton Drive.
• Ensure cross‑platform compatibility and optimal performance for desktop, mobile and web clients.
• Conduct code reviews, provide feedback and optimise for performance and maintainability.
• Collaborate closely with backend, frontend, mobile and desktop teams to integrate core libraries.
• Design and execute comprehensive unit and integration testing strategies.
• Create and maintain thorough documentation for all core components.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, with a focus on Rust.
• Strong expertise in Rust language features, concurrency and ownership models.
• Experience developing libraries for web, mobile or desktop client applications.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team and communicate effectively.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and efficient troubleshooting abilities.
