Senior Group Life Underwriter

About the role

Zurich is seeking an experienced Group Insurance or Reinsurance underwriter to join its global Group Underwriting team. You will assess complex cases across Life, Disability, Accident and Health, working closely with underwriting and pricing teams in multiple markets.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert advice on complex Group underwriting referrals, evaluating risk, pricing, claims experience, terms and reinsurance considerations.
• Challenge proposals with local teams and develop practical solutions for non‑standard business opportunities.
• Support the development and maintenance of underwriting philosophies, authorities, standards and technical guidance.
• Contribute to technical underwriting reviews and assurance activities, identifying weaknesses and recommending improvements.
• Assist product, proposition and pricing initiatives, sharing knowledge to strengthen underwriting capability across local teams.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in group pricing or scheme underwriting within life, disability and health insurance or reinsurance.
• Broad exposure to different markets, products and cultures with the ability to adapt.
• Deep understanding of group protection products and scheme underwriting principles.
• Strong communication and influencing skills, fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
