Senior Lead, Indirect Procurement - Celebrity River

About the role

Royal Caribbean Group's Supply Chain Team is hiring a full-time Senior Lead, Indirect Procurement for its new Celebrity River platform, which is building its European footprint. The role is based in Basel, Switzerland, onsite, and reports to the Manager, Indirect Procurement. It acts as the on-the-ground extension of the Miami Procurement department across Europe, bridging US and European business practices in product development, operations, procurement and legal.

Key responsibilities

• Onboard and contract European suppliers and vendors, from identification through to procure-to-pay, and manage vendor screening, selection and system onboarding
• Maintain stakeholder maps, evaluation criteria and vendor profiles, and refine the onboarding process to scale as the vendor base grows
• Support end-to-end source-to-pay, including requisitions, purchase orders, invoice escalations and compliance with procurement system requirements
• Mediate between US and European cultures, working with Product Development, Operations, Procurement and Legal on compliant vendor selection and contracting
• Negotiate commercial terms and pricing, develop sourcing strategies, build supplier relationships and monitor vendor performance and compliance
• Manage the contract lifecycle, set up governance and risk mitigation, and promote digital tools and process automation
• Track savings and cost avoidance, report regularly to Procurement leadership, and share market intelligence on European river cruising suppliers

Required profile

• Purchasing or procurement background, ideally covering vendor sourcing, screening, contracting and onboarding
• Proven negotiating capability with external suppliers
• Strong knowledge of European geography and waterways, and working knowledge of the river cruising industry
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with European colleagues in a matrix organization
