Senior Manager, Cost Engineering / Design to Value

About the role

The Senior Manager, Cost Engineering/DTV leads the Cost Engineering Centre of Excellence for Innovative Medicine, driving cost‑engineering, design‑to‑value and strategic cost management across supply‑chain and R&D functions.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Innovative Medicine Supply Chain Category Leads to embed cost‑engineering and design‑to‑value principles in both existing business and new product development.
• Lead development and governance of cost structures across all IM supply‑chain categories and drive critical cost‑engineering initiatives supporting business transformation.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to create strategic plans that address cost opportunities identified through cost modelling and supplier cost transparency analytics.
• Oversee digital cost‑engineering tools such as Siemens PCM, the central supplier cost transparency database and future integrations with IM PRISMA 360.

Required profile

• Master of Engineering or Bachelor’s in Engineering/Biological Sciences.
• Minimum 15 years manufacturing experience with at least 5 years in should‑cost modelling.
• Broad knowledge of biotechnology, pharma, chemical or packaging manufacturing processes.
• Proven leadership, communication and stakeholder‑influence skills in a matrixed, virtual environment.

Required skills

• Siemens PCM cost‑engineering platform.
• IM PRISMA 360 data integration.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.
• Cost modelling, activity‑based costing and supplier cost transparency analysis.
