Senior Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Rheonics is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design, test and maintain sensing products, accessories and production systems for fluid‑based process automation. Based in Winterthur, Switzerland, you will work with a global R&D and operations team to bring high‑precision mechanical solutions to market.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop sensors, accessories and related hardware.
• Create product documentation and manage product lifecycle.
• Design, build, test and commission production and calibration equipment.
• Collaborate with external manufacturing partners.
• Perform CFD, buckling, FEM and modal analyses (basic CFD, COMSOL preferred).
• Supervise and train technicians in production activities.
• Maintain detailed R&D and production documentation.
• Lead project management tasks and apply agile collaboration tools.

Required profile

• MSc in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Proven experience in high‑precision manufacturing and automation.
• Fluent in English and German (written and spoken).
• Ability to work onsite in Winterthur and obtain EEA/Switzerland work authorization.
