Senior Operational Buyer 80-100%

About the role

Lonza is looking for a Senior Operational Buyer (80-100%) to join its growing Supply Chain team in Visp. The role leads procurement activities for assigned portfolios, builds supplier partnerships and contributes to transforming supply chain processes. It is primarily based on site, with up to 20% remote work possible on a case-by-case basis.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate procurement for assigned portfolios, ensuring supply continuity, cost competitiveness and compliance with procurement standards.
• Guide and support the Buyer team on priorities, processes and best practices.
• Manage supplier relationships and drive Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) through business reviews, performance monitoring and improvement plans.
• Oversee vendor performance, improving delivery reliability, quality, service levels and regulatory compliance.
• Drive digitalization and process standardization, using SAP and other procurement tools.
• Work with Planning, Logistics, Quality Assurance, Finance and others to support supply chain objectives.
• Contribute to transformation projects such as material creation, supplier onboarding, certificate management, logistics optimization and invoicing improvements.

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent experience in SCM, Procurement or a related field.
• Proven SCM and procurement experience, preferably in a regulated industry.
• Good communication and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in English; German is an advantage.
• A great teammate who collaborates well across cross-functional teams.
