Senior Packaging Technician – Clinical Operations

About the role

The Senior Packaging Technician will independently execute clinical packaging activities, ensuring compliance with SOPs, GMP, GDP and EHS requirements. The role covers primary and secondary packaging, operation of packaging and labeling systems, and coordination of technical tasks for clinical studies.

Key responsibilities

• Perform primary and secondary packaging of clinical study materials according to internal specifications and batch records.
• Operate packaging and labeling equipment, manage material supply to packaging rooms, and execute SAP transactions related to packaging.
• Train and support new technicians, oversee routine technical tasks, and act as the technical point of contact for assigned studies.
• Prepare GMP documentation, including photographs, batch notes, and cleaning verification at study close‑out.
• Conduct routine operational tasks such as scale adjustments, de‑ionized water flushes, and consumable replenishment to maintain readiness of packaging areas.
• Support compliance reviews, document preparation, and process improvements for packaging activities.

Required profile

• Completed apprenticeship in a life‑sciences related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, clinical packaging or a GMP‑regulated environment.
• Fluent German (native) and English at B1/B2 level or higher.
• Hands‑on experience with packaging and labeling equipment and SAP.
• Ability to train technicians and act as a technical contact for studies.
• Detail‑oriented, reliable, and capable of working independently while adhering to compliance standards.
