Senior Process Engineer - Silicon Nitride Platform

About the role

Ligentec, a team of experts in integrated optics, is looking for a Senior Process Engineer in Ecublens. You will own, develop and qualify the core unit processes that make its silicon nitride platform manufacturable, high-yielding and robust. The role sits between process development and industrial scale-up, leading complex engineering projects end-to-end and guiding fellow engineers while keeping processes strictly within spec.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, qualify and document unit processes across lithography, thin film deposition, etching and back-end processing.
• Lead end-to-end projects of increasing complexity, giving technical direction to engineers and ensuring quality.
• Maintain process specifications, set control limits (SPC), design experiments (DoE) and interpret capability data to optimise stability and yield.
• Investigate process excursions to root cause and implement long-term corrective actions through documented change management.
• Transfer new unit processes to volume production and support ramp-up.
• Drive continuous improvement and contribute to the Quality Management System (QMS).

Required profile

• University or HES degree in Materials Science, Microengineering, Physics, Chemistry or a related field.
• Several years of experience leading complex semiconductor/photonic process engineering projects from concept to completion.
• Deep expertise in semiconductor unit process development, SPC, DoE, metrology and failure analysis.
• Rigorous cleanroom discipline, strong process documentation habits and hands-on familiarity with fab environments.
• Analytical problem solving, strong communication across local and remote teams, and high technical autonomy.
• Working proficiency in English; French is a strong plus.
