Senior Project Manager - Industrial Construction Projects

About the role

Turner & Townsend is looking for a Senior Project Manager (m/f/d) for a major, high-profile industrial construction project in Zurich. You will act as Project Lead within a multidisciplinary programme team, taking ownership of a key project area and driving delivery of complex scopes in line with objectives, schedules and budgets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage overall project delivery, including cost, schedule, risk and budget control.
• Manage and coordinate General Contractors and other key project partners.
• Monitor and manage critical milestones to mitigate risks and prevent schedule delays.
• Chair client, project and stakeholder meetings and keep them aligned.
• Track, analyse and report on cost drivers, project performance and commercial risks.
• Evaluate engineering and commercial decisions for their impact on costs, budgets and delivery.
• Advise the client on changes, resolve issues and support negotiations on variations and change orders.
• Oversee close-out activities such as commissioning, handover, final documentation and warranty management.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• At least 7 years of professional project management experience, with a strong background in industrial or large-scale construction projects.
• Proven track record of leading complex, multidisciplinary projects through their full lifecycle.
• Experience with Design & Build delivery models is advantageous.
• Fluent German and English, with strong written and verbal communication.
• Willingness to work on site at least three days per week.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and project reporting tools.
• Strong leadership, communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
