Senior RF IC Design Engineer

About the role

Destinus develops advanced Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) technologies for the defense industry, partnering with government agencies and defense organizations worldwide. As a Senior RF IC Design Engineer, you will design, simulate, optimize and validate high-performance RF and MMIC solutions using III-V and CMOS/SOI technologies, from circuit design and electromagnetic simulations to measurements and work with foundries and industrial partners.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop RF integrated circuits using III-V semiconductor and CMOS/SOI technologies.
• Own schematic design, layout optimization and electromagnetic (EM) simulations to meet performance requirements.
• Simulate, characterize and validate RF circuits through simulation and physical measurements, and identify improvements.
• Collaborate with foundries, design houses and partners on IC development, manufacturing and system integration.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams so RF IC designs meet system-level requirements.
• Prepare technical documentation, progress and design reports, and maintain project plans and milestones.
• Coordinate and supervise technical projects with external partners, aligning on specifications, quality and delivery.

Required profile

• PhD in Electrical Engineering or a Master's degree with at least 4 years of experience in RF IC design or a closely related field.
• Strong understanding of RF fundamentals, circuit theory and RF design techniques.
• Solid knowledge of analog and digital circuit design.
• Good understanding of the full RF/MMIC flow, from schematic and layout to simulation, fabrication and characterization.
• Ability to manage technical projects independently and communicate clearly in English.

Required skills

• Electromagnetic simulation tools such as HFSS, Momentum or equivalents.
• RF circuit simulation and design environments such as ADS, AWR or Cadence Virtuoso.
• PCB design tools such as Altium Designer (a plus).
• Experience with RF measurement equipment and laboratory characterization (an advantage).
