Senior Software Quality Engineer

About the role

The Senior Software Quality Engineer will own the quality strategy for a fast‑moving cloud infrastructure platform, ensuring reliability and testability are built into every development stage. This remote‑first position combines hands‑on automation engineering with architectural input and cross‑functional leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable automated testing frameworks for backend services and user interfaces.
• Define and own end‑to‑end test strategy, aligning coverage with product objectives and reliability expectations.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins or equivalent.
• Participate in architecture reviews, providing guidance on testability, failure scenarios and system reliability.
• Conduct exploratory testing to uncover usability issues, edge cases and regressions.
• Apply AI‑assisted workflows to generate test plans, test cases and improve automation efficiency.
• Investigate complex backend, infrastructure and distributed‑system issues through debugging and root‑cause analysis.

Required profile

• At least 7 years of professional QA or test‑automation experience, including senior‑level responsibilities.
• Strong hands‑on programming skills in Go, Python or JavaScript.
• Proven experience designing test strategies for complex software systems.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD practices and experience with GitHub Actions, Jenkins or similar tools.
• Experience using AI‑powered tools for code review, test planning or automation, with ability to validate outputs.
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes environments and distributed systems.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills.
