Senior / Staff Data Engineer (BI) – CEG Team

About the role

As a Senior/Staff Data Engineer in the Customer Experience Group (CEG) at Agoda, you will design, build, and maintain the data and software foundations that enable business users, agents, and product teams to serve customers across all contact channels.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and operate scalable ETL/ELT pipelines ingesting data from case management, telephony, chat, bots, CRM and third‑party sources.
• Create and optimise data models, warehouse tables, marts and views that power reporting, monitoring, forecasting and experimentation.
• Implement data quality, validation, anomaly detection and observability mechanisms for critical CEG datasets.
• Build internal data tools and lightweight services (APIs, dashboards, alerting systems) using Python, Java, Golang or TypeScript.
• Collaborate with product, operations, analytics and engineering teams to translate business problems into data solutions and maintain self‑service analytics platforms.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, Analytics Engineer or Data Analyst in a data‑driven environment.
• Strong SQL expertise, including complex joins, window functions and query optimisation.
• Hands‑on experience with a major data‑warehouse or big‑data technology (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, Hive, Spark).
• Proficiency with ETL/ELT orchestration tools such as Airflow or dbt.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non‑technical stakeholders.
