Senior Tax Manager

About the role
Our client, a global leader in the pharmaceutical and life‑sciences sector, is seeking a Senior Tax Manager to lead tax matters across a portfolio of European countries, including several Eastern European markets. This fixed‑term role (July 2026 – January 2027) offers the chance to work within a high‑visibility international tax team and address complex cross‑border tax challenges.
Key responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders across the assigned countries.
- Assess tax implications of transactions and deliver practical, high‑quality tax advice.
- Lead and coordinate corporate income tax compliance activities throughout the region.
- Manage tax audits and ensure transparent communication with tax authorities.
- Identify, assess, and proactively mitigate tax risks.
- Coordinate with shared‑service teams and external advisors for accurate, timely reporting.
- Monitor legislative changes and evaluate their impact on the business.
- Support transfer‑pricing compliance, documentation, and adjustments.
- Review contracts and initiatives from a tax perspective.
- Drive process improvements to simplify tax processes and increase efficiency.
Required profile
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Law or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of tax experience in the pharmaceutical, life‑sciences or Big 4 environment.
- Strong understanding of corporate taxation and regulations across multiple European jurisdictions.
- Experience managing tax audits and interacting with tax authorities.
- Solid knowledge of tax accounting principles and income‑tax reporting.
- Analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Fluent English; German is an advantage.
- Professional tax qualification (CPA or equivalent) is beneficial.
