Senior Technical SEO & AI Search Engineer

About the role

As a Senior Technical SEO & AI Search Engineer you will ensure that Galenica’s webshops, product pages, services and pharmacy sites are reliably crawled, understood and discovered by both traditional search engines and emerging AI systems.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and optimise structured data, metadata, internal linking, redirects, sitemaps, crawling, indexation and other technical search foundations across digital platforms.
• Fix technical SEO issues directly and collaborate hands‑on with Product and Engineering teams to deliver larger improvements into production.
• Build automated checks, scripts and lightweight tools to improve technical quality, reduce repetitive manual work and scale AI‑readiness.
• Work with Digital‑as‑a‑Service and Journey Product Teams from discovery through solution design, implementation, testing and release validation.
• Explore AI Search and agent capabilities through experiments and prototypes using LLM APIs, structured information and emerging approaches such as RAG or MCP.

Required profile

• Several years of hands‑on Technical SEO experience in an agency, e‑commerce, marketplace, large website or multi‑site environment.
• Deep knowledge of crawling, indexation, rendering, site architecture, canonicals, redirects, sitemaps, internal linking, structured data and modern JavaScript websites.
• Comfortable with HTML, CSS and JavaScript; able to automate tasks with scripts or APIs, preferably using Python.
• Practical experience with JSON‑LD / Schema.org, Google Search Console, crawling/monitoring tools, Git and modern development workflows.
• Active user of modern AI tools; experience with LLM APIs, AI‑assisted workflows, agents, RAG or MCP is a plus.
• Independent, impact‑driven, fluent in English; German highly valuable, French or Italian a plus.
