Service Team Leader Switzerland & Austria

About the role

Tecan is looking for a Service Team Leader for Switzerland and Austria (80-100% time) based in Männedorf near Zürich. This field-based role leads and coordinates all activities within the Service Teams, acting as the main contact for regional demands and working with customers, the helpdesk, sales, service engineers, project management and the back office. The aim is to ensure high service standards, solve customer problems and maximise instrument availability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop and support a team of Field Automation Specialists, evaluate training needs and plan trainings and workshops
• Perform and oversee instrument installations, problem diagnosis, repairs, preventive maintenance, upgrades and customer training
• Maintain service documentation and parts inventory, and provide backup service support outside the assigned territory
• Escalate issues and cooperate with Service Management, other departments, manufacturers and suppliers
• Support sales efforts, product demonstrations and trade shows, and handle administrative and quality assurance tasks
• Ensure compliance with company rules and procedures, and be responsible for team KPIs, reporting, talent development and succession planning

Required profile

• Technical, scientific or engineering education
• 5+ years of experience in field service within the bio-, biopharma- or scientific instrument market
• 1+ year of previous team leadership experience
• Fluent German and English
• Willingness to travel in Switzerland, Austria and occasionally Germany (10-20%)
