Shift Operator – Gas, Power & Emissions

About the role

Join TotalEnergies' Gas, Power & Emissions Operations team as a Shift Operator, supporting the physical gas and power portfolios across Europe in a 24/7 environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage physical gas and power positions in the UK and Continental European markets.
• Nominate positions to transporters and system operators using dedicated scheduling systems.
• Monitor intraday and day‑ahead market movements and balance the portfolio accordingly.
• Optimize commercial outcomes outside standard office hours via exchanges and OTC transactions.
• Prepare balancing reports for upstream gas portfolios and ensure capacity requirements are met.

Required profile

• University degree in Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Science or a related quantitative field.
• At least 1 year of experience in gas/power operations, energy trading, scheduling or a comparable role.
• Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus.
• Resilient, detail‑oriented and able to make quick decisions in a fast‑moving environment.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities for handling large data sets.
