Shipping Operator

About the role

The Shipping Operator will coordinate daily shipping operations for TotalEnergies Trading & Shipping in Geneva, ensuring safe, efficient and compliant execution of voyages from pre‑fixture to post‑voyage.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor vessel operations across the full voyage lifecycle.
• Act as the primary point of contact with shipowners, charterers, agents and internal stakeholders.
• Work closely with Trading, Chartering, Technical, Vetting and other support functions.
• Ensure voyage execution aligns with contractual terms, operational requirements and internal procedures.
• Optimize voyages for chartered vessels, balancing safety, efficiency, timing and cost.
• Monitor operational performance, incidents, delays and associated costs.
• Support risk management and ensure compliance with HSE standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of operational processes and ways of working.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years’ seagoing experience as an Officer on gas carriers, preferably LPG or LNG vessels.
• Solid experience in maritime operations, shipping or fleet management.
• Strong understanding of voyage operations and the maritime environment.
• Familiarity with shipping contracts, operational processes and voyage execution.
• Rigorous, reactive and able to manage multiple priorities under time pressure.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Clear communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Team spirit, reliability and a strong sense of commitment.
