Software Engineer III, Retail Advertiser Intelligence, Google Ads

About the role

As a Software Engineer III in Retail Advertiser Intelligence, you will develop and maintain the infrastructure that powers products giving retailers reporting insights to make investment decisions, debug performance and understand Google's competitiveness. You will work on a project critical to Google's needs, with opportunities to move between teams and projects as the business grows.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the core reporting infrastructure: RVL, UDFs, Reporting Servers and Dynamo.
• Work with the Product Manager and UX team to understand product requirements and develop features.
• Take part in on-call rotations and keep the system healthy.
• Design and improve advertiser experience latency.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of software development experience in one or more programming languages, or 1 year with an advanced degree.
• Preferred: Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• In-person interviews are usually required as part of the hiring process.

Required skills

• Full-stack development: back-end in Java, Python, Golang or C++, and front-end with JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML and CSS.
• Preferred: data structures and algorithms, accessible technologies, large-scale infrastructure and data processing pipelines, and data processing, aggregation and reporting.
