Sous Chef

About the role

The Mandarin Oriental Palace Luzern seeks a Sous Chef to support the Executive Sous Chef in delivering high‑quality culinary experiences across its multiple outlets. You will help maintain the brand’s standards of food quality, service execution, and hygiene while fostering a collaborative kitchen environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily kitchen operations and ensure compliance with corporate policies and standard operating procedures.
• Assist the Executive Sous Chef in monitoring food quality, staff training, sanitation, and inventory management.
• Maintain positive synergy between all kitchen outlets to maximise efficiency.
• Oversee daily food production, handle inventories, and ensure dishes are prepared to the Executive Chef’s standards.

Required profile

• Completed vocational training in upscale hospitality or gastronomy.
• 3‑5 years of professional experience in a comparable Sous Chef position.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Flexibility to work weekend and holiday shifts.
• Fluent in German and English; additional languages are a plus.

Required skills

• Good IT proficiency, preferably with Infrasys cash‑register system.
• Familiarity with SevenRooms booking system.
