Spanish-Speaking Wealth Planning Lawyer – LATAM, Zurich

About the role

Julius Baer's Wealth Planning unit, part of Global Products & Solutions, offers legal advice (trust, tax, family law and governance) to Relationship Managers so they can acquire, maintain and retain private client relationships. It is looking for a highly skilled Spanish-speaking lawyer to join its team in Zurich, working 100% on-site. The lawyer gives legal and tax guidance and introduces wealth planning products to private clients.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic, holistic wealth planning guidance to Relationship Managers and their clients, coordinating the process with internal and external experts
• Implement solutions such as private insurance, private trusts, private foundations or private companies with internal and external providers
• Act as a subject matter specialist in client meetings, travelling to meet clients with Relationship Managers
• Train and support Relationship Managers and other stakeholders on wealth planning topics and services

Required profile

• At least 10 years of professional experience in legal and trust advisory, in a private bank, legal practice or family office
• Strong knowledge of LATAM legal and tax structures, especially Mexico, and experience advising private clients
• University degree in Law (from a Latin American country); a master's in tax or a related field is required
• Spanish native speaker fluent in English
• Ability to travel to LATAM several times a year
• Advantages: additional qualifications in family governance or STEP accreditation
