Strategic Sourcing Manager – Elastomers & Plastics

About the role

VAT Group is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager to lead global category management for elastomer, rubber and plastics materials. The role partners with business units, engineering and supply‑chain functions to ensure cost‑effective, reliable supply that supports the company’s growth and brand value.

Key responsibilities

• Own the Elastomer, Rubber and Plastics material categories, managing capacity, knowledge and performance.
• Drive cost optimisation, supply‑base optimisation, geographic sourcing footprint and best‑cost country sourcing.
• Provide forward‑looking market insights on raw‑material trends, threats and opportunities.
• Develop and execute category sourcing strategies using defined tools and methods.
• Act as the primary interface with business units and engineering for strategic sourcing and product development processes.
• Lead change initiatives and maintain active supplier relationship management across the global supply base.

Required profile

• Higher education in Procurement or a related field, preferably a Master’s degree.
• 4‑8 years of strategic sourcing experience with global direct‑material category management.
• Experience in electronic sourcing markets and working with EMS suppliers.
• Proven contract negotiation skills in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Experience in a multinational, cross‑functional organization.
