Study Director - Analytical department

About the role

We are looking for a Study Director to lead analytical studies within our Aquatic Ecotoxicology program. The role involves overseeing residue analysis, physicochemical property testing, method development and ensuring compliance with GLP standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead analytical studies for aquatic ecotoxicology according to OECD guidelines on agro‑chemicals, pharmaceuticals and industrial chemicals.
• Perform residue analytics of aqueous and sediment samples from laboratory tests.
• Direct physicochemical property studies such as water solubility and log Pow.
• Develop and validate analytical methods for trace‑level detection.
• Evaluate study results, prepare reports and communicate findings to internal teams and external clients.
• Supervise a team of laboratory technicians and ensure GLP compliance.

Required profile

• Master’s or PhD in Chemistry with a strong focus on analytical chemistry.
• Professional experience in analytical chemistry, preferably under GLP conditions.
• Solid understanding of the environmental behaviour of chemicals.
• Fluency in spoken and written English and good verbal German.

Required skills

• Chromatographic techniques: HPLC, GC, HPLC/MS.
• Method development and validation for trace‑level analysis.
• Sample preparation for aqueous and sediment matrices.
