System Engineer – Database Administrator

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator with deep Oracle expertise to manage and evolve our enterprise database environments, supporting critical applications and transformation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Administer Oracle Database environments, including installation, configuration, patching, upgrades and lifecycle management.
• Manage and support additional platforms such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL, MongoDB or other NoSQL solutions.
• Execute and coordinate database migration projects, covering cross‑version upgrades, platform and cloud migrations, and consolidation initiatives.
• Plan and perform migrations from on‑premise to cloud services like Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, AWS or Azure.
• Implement high‑availability and disaster‑recovery solutions, including Oracle Data Guard and RAC, and equivalent technologies for other platforms.
• Define and execute backup, restore and recovery procedures across multiple database systems.
• Monitor and optimise performance, capacity, storage and resource utilisation.
• Troubleshoot incidents, performance bottlenecks, replication issues and database‑related application problems.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience as a Database Administrator with a strong focus on Oracle Database.
• Hands‑on experience administering Oracle in enterprise environments.
• Good knowledge of at least one additional database technology such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL or MongoDB.
• Proven experience in database migration activities, including upgrades, platform changes and cloud migrations.
• Strong knowledge of backup, recovery, business continuity and disaster‑recovery concepts.
• Experience with performance tuning, SQL optimisation and complex issue troubleshooting.
• Understanding of Linux/Unix environments and scripting for automation.
• Familiarity with database security, access control and auditing principles.
• Ability to work effectively in project‑based environments and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills in English.
