System Operations Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a System Operations Engineer to take ownership of a client portfolio, combining operations, engineering, and direct customer interaction. You will work with modern technologies, including AI, to shape standards, processes, and automations while collaborating closely with both the team and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead Engineer for assigned customer portfolio, acting as main technical contact.
• Provide comprehensive support and continuous development of IT environments.
• Handle customer requests, prioritize incidents, and ensure sustainable resolution.
• Conduct structured error analysis and troubleshooting across multiple system levels.
• Maintain high service quality and stable customer environments, including on‑site exchanges and occasional deployments.
• Identify optimization potential, standardize recurring processes, and automate tasks.
• Explore AI use cases in ticket processing and co‑design AI‑supported automations.
• Participate in projects, implement sub‑projects, and support the introduction of new solutions.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or Platform Development.
• Several years of experience in IT operations or systems engineering.
• Solid knowledge of Microsoft technologies (M365, Azure) and infrastructure.
• Experience troubleshooting complex system landscapes.
• Initial experience with automation, standardization, and emerging technologies such as AI.
• Customer‑oriented mindset, clear communication, and independent, structured work style.
• Driving licence category B, excellent German and good English skills.
