Technical Department Intern (12 months)

About the role

Sika, a specialty chemicals company active in bonding, sealing, damping, reinforcing and protection for the building sector and industry, is looking for a Technical Department Intern for a 12-month placement in its Corporate Technical Department. The intern supports the international team, gains exposure to various business areas and works alongside colleagues from different functions and countries.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Corporate Technical Department in daily operations and project activities
• Contribute to project management and product management initiatives
• Assist in creating, maintaining and improving technical documentation
• Support technical marketing and internal communication on a global scale
• Take part in product testing, evaluation, analysis and documentation
• Help develop and document internal processes, procedures and work instructions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across departments and regions

Required profile

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Construction, Business or a related field
• Strong interest in technical products and industrial applications
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Structured and proactive working style
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an international environment
• Eagerness to learn in a fast-paced global organisation

Required skills

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
• Fluent English; additional languages are an advantage
