Technical Director, Geology

About the role

Adterra is looking for a senior geoscientist to lead its global geological strategy across energy‑transition assets. Reporting to the COO, the Technical Director, Geology will own the geological work, ensure consistent interpretation standards, and drive scientific output.

Key responsibilities

• Lead geological evaluation of geothermal, helium, natural hydrogen, lithium and oil & gas projects, including play assessment, risk modelling and post‑drill review.
• Integrate geophysical, petrophysical and geochemical data into coherent static models and oversee their use in reservoir engineering.
• Define and enforce peer‑review standards, review geological deliverables and align them with the Group’s quality assurance processes.
• Support scoping, due‑diligence and resource estimation for new assets and client projects.
• Identify, test and implement new technologies, AI‑driven workflows and innovative modelling approaches.

Required profile

• Seasoned geoscientist with extensive hands‑on experience in exploration and proven technical leadership.
• Strong track record of delivering high‑quality geological interpretations that have been validated against drilling results.
• Ability to collaborate across geophysics, petrophysics and reservoir engineering teams and to challenge interpretations constructively.

Required skills
