Technical Manager – Strategic Sourcing & Supply

About the role

Unitaid is seeking a Technical Manager to lead strategic sourcing and supply activities for its portfolio of innovative health products. The role supports cross‑functional teams in market‑shaping and access initiatives, ensuring that sourcing strategies align with Unitaid’s policies on quality and public procurement.

Key responsibilities

• Manage strategic sourcing and supply across a range of health products, supporting market‑shaping and access projects.
• Provide strategic, operational and policy guidance to operationalise supply‑side objectives, including root‑cause analysis and design of market‑shaping interventions.
• Engage with governments, manufacturers, financing organisations, procurement agents and other partners to implement supply‑side interventions.
• Collaborate with Global Fund, USG, PAHO, AU and similar institutions to align manufacturer engagement, pricing and supply terms.
• Guide the design, maintenance and use of data on manufacturers, procurement agents and health products for informed decision‑making.
• Monitor market developments, sourcing trends and delivery mechanisms affecting Unitaid’s portfolio.
• Participate in project performance oversight teams and represent Unitaid in meetings with international organisations, governments and industry.

Required profile

• Experience in strategic sourcing, procurement or supply‑chain management within the global health sector.
• Strong understanding of public procurement policies and quality‑assurance standards.
• Proven ability to conduct market analyses, identify access barriers and negotiate with manufacturers.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with governments, multilateral agencies and private sector partners.
