Technician for Industrial Cooling, Ventilation & Refrigeration

About the role

CERN’s Engineering department is looking for a qualified technician to join the Cooling and Ventilation (EN-CV) group. You will support the operation and maintenance of complex cooling, ventilation and refrigeration plants that serve the accelerator complex and experimental areas.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, supervise and execute preventive and corrective maintenance using the CMMS system.
• Perform operational tasks to ensure reliable running of cooling, ventilation and refrigeration systems.
• Maintain regular liaison with internal clients regarding equipment status and needs.
• Define and propose technical solutions for modifications, upgrades or renovations.
• Technically coordinate external contractors, ensuring compliance with contractual and technical standards.
• Contribute to projects from design through testing and commissioning of new systems.
• Keep technical documentation up‑to‑date and compliant with quality standards.
• Enforce safety rules for all interventions and report progress, schedule and costs.

Required profile

• Higher technical diploma or equivalent experience in refrigeration, electromechanics or a related field.
• Relevant experience in maintenance, operation and installation of industrial cooling, ventilation and refrigeration systems.
• Experience coordinating external contractors.
• Possession of a fluid handling permit or equivalent is an advantage.
