Technician Specialist – Immersive Experience

About the role

The Portail des Nations in Geneva seeks a versatile Technician Specialist to ensure the smooth daily operation of its immersive "Together" experience. Working alongside the technical and logistics coordinator, you will provide continuous technical coverage for a venue that welcomes visitors seven days a week and hosts private evening events.

Key responsibilities

• Open and close the experience each day, performing full system checks.
• Monitor all AV and digital equipment in real time and carry out Level 1‑2 corrective maintenance.
• Diagnose, resolve, or escalate technical incidents and maintain detailed logs.
• Welcome and guide visitors in French and English, presenting the immersive journey and managing groups, schools, delegations, and private events.
• Contribute to content design, software updates, and interactive game development.
• Maintain internal IT tools, configure VLANs, Dante/AES67, NDI networks, and manage Linux/Windows servers.
• Develop AI‑driven automations for recurring administrative tasks and support non‑technical staff with digital tools.
• Produce photo and video material for social media and assist with staging, lighting, and conference equipment for private events.

Required profile

• Strong technical background in professional AV systems and IT infrastructure.
• Fluent in French and English; additional language is a plus.
• Ability to interact with diverse visitor groups and convey United Nations themes.

Required skills

• Media servers: Pixera, Disguise, Watchout, TouchDesigner.
• Spatial audio and projection‑mapping technologies.
• AV/IP networking: managed switches, QoS, AV over IP, Dante, AES67, NDI.
• AV control systems: Crestron, Q‑SYS, AMX.
• Operating systems: Linux, iOS, Windows Server.
• Python scripting.
