Technology Transfer Lead - Sterile Drug Products

About the role

Lonza is hiring a Technology Transfer Lead (80-100%) in Stein, Switzerland, to act as the technical lead for sterile drug product transfers. You coordinate cross-functional teams and customer interactions to bring new products onto the manufacturing line, covering process setup, scale-up, documentation and implementation. This is an office-first role with 20% remote work (one day per week); relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates and their families.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the technical transfer and introduction of new sterile drug products from early clinical development through to commercial manufacturing, ensuring a smooth and compliant transition into GMP operations.
• Act as the central contact for customers and cross-functional stakeholders, coordinating activities, timelines, risks and milestones.
• Drive process setup, scale-up and implementation for aseptic manufacturing, ensuring successful product launch and operational readiness.
• Create and maintain technical documentation such as master batch records, transfer packages and process implementation documents, ensuring data integrity and GMP compliance.
• Oversee deviation management, CAPAs and change controls, supporting inspections, audits and regulatory activities.

Required profile

• 3-4 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with proven experience in aseptic GMP manufacturing and a strong understanding of sterile operations.
• Fluent German and English, able to collaborate with site teams, global stakeholders and customers.
• Proactive, detail-oriented and collaborative, able to coordinate multiple priorities.

Required skills

• Solid knowledge of Fill & Finish processes, including hands-on support of manufacturing in a regulated environment.
• Strong understanding of GMP requirements and quality standards.
