Theoretical Physicist – Limited Duration Research Position

About the role

You will join the talent pool for limited‑duration research positions within CERN's Theoretical Physics Department. As an outstanding researcher in theoretical particle physics, you will develop new ideas to understand fundamental constituents and forces, ensuring relevance to CERN’s experimental programme.

Key responsibilities

• Make significant contributions to theoretical research related to elementary particle physics.
• Participate in and initiate activities within the Theoretical Physics Department, often collaborating with experimental physicists.
• Take part in CERN committees and study groups.
• Maintain continued contacts with the external scientific community.

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent in Theoretical Physics or a related field.
• Demonstrated post‑doctoral research leading to peer‑reviewed publications.
• Evidence of ability to make significant contributions to the organization.

Required skills

• Knowledge and application of computational and mathematical physics.
• Knowledge and application of particle physics phenomenology.
• Thorough knowledge of theoretical physics.
