Transport & Distribution Manager – Logistics Cost Optimisation

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Transport & Distribution Manager to lead freight and distribution cost optimisation initiatives within a global supply chain. The role will focus on delivering measurable savings, managing contracts, and ensuring efficient inbound and outbound logistics operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead freight and distribution cost optimisation projects to achieve significant annual savings.
• Represent logistics in global contract negotiations for transportation and warehousing services.
• Manage and optimise spend across a complex international network.
• Define, implement and monitor KPIs for logistics service providers and conduct regular performance reviews.
• Lead RFQs, including temperature‑controlled and specialised freight categories.
• Monitor transport execution against SLAs, ensuring compliance with GDP and GMP requirements.
• Analyse logistics costs, define optimal routing and carrier strategies based on total cost considerations.
• Oversee freight cost pre‑calculations and validate invoices from logistics providers.
• Ensure accurate logistics data management and reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Economics or a related field.
• 6‑9 years of experience in supply chain, logistics or procurement.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Proven project‑management experience.
• Solid understanding of transportation, warehousing and Incoterms.
• High level of professional integrity and accountability.
• Fluent in English.
