Transport Procurement Manager (m/w/d)

About the role

A partner company is looking for a proactive, commercially minded Transport Procurement Manager to join a growing logistics and procurement team in Switzerland. The role manages transport requests, sources reliable carrier partners and secures competitive freight solutions, acting as the link between the carrier network and customer requirements. It is fully remote.

Key responsibilities

• Manage incoming transport requests, clarify customer requirements and identify suitable transport solutions.
• Source transport capacity by requesting and evaluating quotations from carriers.
• Negotiate freight rates and select providers based on vehicle category, route, lead time, availability and service needs.
• Coordinate procurement activities and respond to customers promptly and reliably.
• Calculate selling prices, assess cost structures and margins, and present competitive offers.
• Maintain accurate records of requests, quotations, pricing and orders in internal systems.
• Monitor carrier performance, build strong relationships with providers and propose standardized workflows and digital improvements.

Required profile

• 2-5 years of experience in freight forwarding, transport coordination, transport logistics, freight procurement or a comparable role.
• Solid understanding of transport operations, carrier management, freight purchasing and logistics processes.
• Good numerical and commercial understanding, including price calculation and margin evaluation.
• Excellent written and spoken German; good working knowledge of English; additional languages are an advantage.
• Strong organization, communication and negotiation skills, with a proactive, reliable and collaborative approach.

Required skills

• Confident use of CRM systems, spreadsheets and Transport Management Systems (TMS).
• Openness to new software, digital solutions, AI-powered tools and automation.
