Backend Engineer, Node.js/TypeScript

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer with strong Node.js and TypeScript expertise to join a fast‑scaling global engineering organization. You will help design and develop the backend infrastructure that powers high‑scale HR and payroll services used in more than 150 countries.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Build robust, high‑performance APIs with a focus on security and scalability.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, designers, and QA to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
• Optimize PostgreSQL queries, data models, and migrations for high‑volume data processing.
• Design systems capable of handling high transaction volumes, concurrency, and real‑time processing.
• Ensure reliability through clean architecture, testing, and code‑quality best practices.
• Participate in product planning, technical discovery, and architecture discussions.
• Identify and resolve production issues to improve system stability.

Required profile

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on backend development.
• Strong product‑oriented mindset and ability to translate technical decisions into customer value.
• Experience working in remote, distributed, and asynchronous teams.
• Excellent communication skills for explaining technical concepts clearly.
