Professorship in Clinical Psychology & Digital Psychotherapy

About the role

The Faculty of Psychology at the University of Basel seeks an associate or full professor to lead research and teaching in clinical psychology and digital psychotherapy, starting fall 2027 or by mutual agreement.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct high‑impact research on digital intervention approaches (e.g., smartphone apps, AI, virtual reality) for children, adolescents, and adults, focusing on effectiveness, acceptance, and health‑system integration.
• Publish internationally, secure competitive third‑party funding, and raise the faculty’s research profile.
• Deliver eight semester hours per week of lectures, seminars, and supervise bachelor, master, and PhD theses in clinical and digital psychotherapy.

Required profile

• Master’s degree and PhD in psychology (essential).
• Strong international publication record as first or last author and proven success as principal investigator in competitive funding.
• Completed or advanced psychotherapy training (Swiss‑accredited or equivalent) in child‑adolescent or adult psychotherapy.
• Experience teaching at bachelor/master level and supervising early‑career researchers, including PhD projects.
• Proficiency in German (C1) expected within two years of appointment.
