Application and Support Engineer - Java

About the role

We are looking for an Application and Support Engineer specialized in Java to join our technical support team in Geneva. You will be responsible for ensuring the stability, availability and continuity of critical enterprise business applications, acting as a primary point of contact for users and technical teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide functional and technical support for business applications, handling incidents and service requests through ticketing tools while meeting agreed service levels.
• Monitor application availability, performance and operational alerts, taking action or escalating as needed.
• Investigate production incidents and system defects, reproduce issues and implement corrective actions such as data fixes and configuration changes.
• Perform regular production activities, system checks, scheduled operations and data analysis in line with established procedures.
• Collaborate with business users, technical teams and external providers to resolve issues, validate solutions and maintain service continuity.
• Participate in testing of application enhancements, fixes and new releases, confirming that solutions work as expected.
• Maintain and improve operational documentation, user guides, knowledge articles and support procedures.
• Contribute to automation, optimisation and security of operational processes, focusing on reliability and data integrity.

Required profile

• 5 to 10 years of hands‑on experience supporting and managing production environments, preferably with Java‑based applications and relational databases.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for complex technical issues, including third‑level production support.
• Solid understanding of software development life‑cycle and CI/CD practices.
• Good knowledge of IT service‑management processes (incident, problem, change, service request).
• Excellent communication skills in English; French is a plus.
