About the role
The Sustainable Stock Exchanges Programme (SSEP) within UNCTAD’s Division on Investment and Enterprise is looking for two Associate Economic Affairs Officers to support research, analysis and technical cooperation on responsible investment for sustainable development, with a focus on sustainable stock exchanges.
Key responsibilities
- Collect, evaluate, interpret and analyse quantitative statistics and qualitative socio‑economic information related to responsible investment and sustainable development.
- Maintain and manage databases, organising non‑quantitative information on responsible investment.
- Prepare briefing notes, speeches and other communication material for non‑specialist audiences.
- Draft analytical studies and contribute to awareness‑raising campaigns through social media and other channels.
- Assist in organising expert group meetings, seminars and events.
- Compile data and information for technical cooperation project proposals in the area of investment for sustainable development.
- Prepare documentation for technical cooperation programmes and online training projects.
- Support monitoring, back‑stopping and assessment of technical cooperation programmes.
- Perform related administrative tasks and undertake on‑the‑job training activities.
Required profile
- Academic background in economics, finance, or a related field.
- Ability to analyse both quantitative and qualitative socio‑economic data.
- Familiarity with stock‑exchange practices and sustainable finance concepts.
- Strong written communication skills for preparing briefing notes and reports for non‑specialist audiences.
- Capacity to work under deadlines in a multicultural, international environment.
Required skills
- Knowledge of database applications and data‑management techniques.
- Understanding of sustainable finance and responsible investment principles.
- Proficiency in preparing analytical reports and briefing materials.
