Communications & Events Internship – UNEP FI

About the role

The UNEP Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) is seeking a motivated intern to support its Communications and Events teams. Working remotely or from our Geneva office, you will help raise awareness of sustainable finance and promote the work of our member banks, insurers and investors.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in writing, editing and designing communication materials such as newsletters, social media posts, event announcements and web content.
• Support day‑to‑day updates and content development for the UNEP FI website.
• Monitor website and social‑media analytics, prepare reports and suggest actionable improvements.
• Contribute to the planning and execution of virtual and in‑person events, including logistics and promotional activities.
• Help maintain the organization’s communication channels and ensure consistent branding.

Required profile

• Current university student or recent graduate in Communications, Journalism, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal English skills with an eye for detail.
• Interest in sustainable finance, environmental policy and international development.

Required skills

• Proficiency in writing, editing and basic graphic design for digital content.
• Familiarity with social‑media platforms and basic analytics tools.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a remote or hybrid setting.
