Junior Communications Contractor – UN Human Rights

About the role

The Junior Communications Contractor will work under the guidance of the Senior Human Rights Officer and the Communications Lead of the Global Alliance for Human Rights. The role supports the development of a coherent public identity for the Global Alliance and contributes to the outreach activities leading up to the 80th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing the Global Alliance’s communication strategy and advocacy calendar.
• Create and publish impactful social‑media content, short‑form videos and graphic assets that follow the Global Alliance visual identity.
• Produce communication packages for external partners, including strategic messaging guidelines.
• Research and draft impact stories for newsletters, annual reports and grant renewals.
• Monitor platform analytics, generate engagement reports and provide recommendations for optimisation.
• Support partner digital media production and adapt messaging for diverse cultural and linguistic audiences.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s) in communications, journalism, international relations or a related field, or equivalent combination of a first‑level degree plus two years relevant experience.
• Minimum two years of experience in public information, journalism, marketing or related fields, with proven ability to produce social‑media and multimedia content.
• Fluency in English; ability to work in a multicultural environment.
