Requirement & Test Automation Engineer – Safety-Critical

About the role

We are looking for a Requirement & Test Automation Engineer to join a team developing a complex safety-critical software environment. The role blends requirements engineering, technical documentation, system testing and test-automation within an Agile framework.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse business and end-user needs and translate them into clear functional and system requirements.
• Review regulations, quality standards and safety constraints to ensure compliance.
• Develop, maintain and trace system requirements across product architecture levels.
• Design and maintain test cases covering system and component requirements.
• Develop and maintain automated testing solutions, primarily using Python, with exposure to Java, JUnit and Gherkin.
• Execute manual and automated tests, document results and keep records in test-management tools.
• Investigate defects, log issues in JIRA and support root-cause analysis.
• Participate in formal system validation activities such as Factory Acceptance Testing, working closely with end users and multidisciplinary teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a safety-critical environment, preferably with mission-critical software.
• Strong background in requirements engineering, technical documentation and system testing.
• Ability to understand end-user processes and convert them into precise requirements and test scenarios.
• Analytical, detail-oriented and able to work autonomously under pressure.
• Familiarity with real-time, security-critical or air-traffic management systems and standards such as ESARR6/EC482, ED153, IEC 61508 or ISO 12207 is a plus.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
