3D Integration Engineer – CERN EN-ACE Group

About the role

The 3D Integration Office within CERN's EN-ACE group is looking for a 3D Integration Engineer to support the third Long Shutdown (LS3) of the accelerator complex. You will coordinate multidisciplinary design teams, manage complex 3D integration studies, and help improve data quality across the project.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor 3D integration studies for LS3, ensuring alignment with project milestones.
• Collaborate with on‑site installation and maintenance teams to identify and resolve integration issues.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, update project data in internal IT platforms (e.g., Track It, EDMS), and create dashboards for project monitoring.
• Create, update, and maintain 3D models using CATIA V5 to provide accurate integration data.
• Improve CAD data quality within the PDM/PLM environment and support validation workflows.
• Develop and standardise 3D integration processes, methodologies and best practices.
• Verify mechanical and magnetic references together with the Layout and Configuration Management team.
• Organise Integration Committee meetings and coordinate laser‑scanning activities with survey and scheduling teams.
• Maintain collaborative web workspaces to centralise information and facilitate knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• Degree in mechanical, industrial, systems or integration engineering.
• Experience organising and managing technical data with digital engineering or information‑management tools.
• Proven ability to produce clear technical documentation and present engineering information in a structured way.
• Strong coordination skills for activities involving multiple stakeholders.

Required skills

• 3D CAD modelling, preferably CATIA V5.
• Understanding of mechanical assemblies, installation constraints and 3D integration principles.
• Familiarity with PDM/PLM environments or engineering data‑management systems.
• Experience with laser‑scanning coordination and safety compliance.
