AfCFTA Implementation Intern – Ghana

About the role

The International Trade Centre (ITC) is seeking a motivated intern to support the implementation of its One Trade Africa programme, focusing on Ghana’s strategic role as an AfCFTA hub. Working remotely, the intern will assist the ITC AfCFTA Liaison Advisor based in Accra and contribute to the development of trade‑facilitation activities across the continent.

Key responsibilities

• Support the coordination of One Trade Africa activities with the AfCFTA Secretariat, national institutions and regional partners.
• Assist in preparing briefing notes, policy briefs and training materials on AfCFTA opportunities for MSMEs.
• Conduct research and data analysis on trade flows, market access conditions and private‑sector needs.
• Help organise virtual workshops, webinars and stakeholder engagement events.
• Provide administrative support for monitoring and reporting on programme progress.

Required profile

• Current university student or recent graduate in International Trade, Economics, Development Studies or a related field.
• Strong interest in African trade policy and the AfCFTA framework.
• Excellent analytical, writing and communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and remotely, meeting deadlines.
