AI Engineer – Build Production-Grade AI Systems

About the role

We are partnering with a leading diagnostics company in Switzerland to hire an AI Engineer who will help build a new AI capability as the business transforms toward predictive, data‑driven decision‑making. The role involves designing, developing and deploying AI agents and multi‑agent systems that support scientific and quality‑driven use cases.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deploy AI agents and multi‑agent systems for scientific and quality‑driven applications.
• Build end‑to‑end AI solutions from problem definition through production deployment.
• Develop tools for data automation, document processing and decision support.
• Improve workflows by enabling earlier risk detection and intervention points.
• Ensure solutions are robust, scalable and production‑ready in real‑world environments.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders to translate business problems into deployable AI systems.

Required profile

• Proven experience building and deploying production‑grade AI or Generative AI systems.
• Hands‑on experience with modern large language models (e.g., Claude or similar) in real‑world applications.
• Experience developing AI agents and multi‑agent/orchestrated AI systems (highly preferred).
• Track record of delivering end‑to‑end solutions from concept to production.
• Strong Python and engineering background, preferably with data pipelines or enterprise systems.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment with evolving structure.
• Experience in regulated environments such as diagnostics, pharma or med‑tech is a plus.
• Exposure to scientific or manufacturing workflows is beneficial.
