Assistant Restaurant Manager

About the role

As Assistant Restaurant Manager at Hyatt Regency Zurich Airport, you will support the Restaurant Manager in delivering memorable dining experiences for hotel guests and visitors. You will work on the floor, coach staff, and ensure daily operations run smoothly in line with Hyatt’s high standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Restaurant Manager in overseeing all aspects of restaurant operations.
• Lead by example on the floor, coaching and motivating the service team.
• Build strong relationships with guests to enhance loyalty and satisfaction.
• Coordinate closely with the kitchen and other hotel departments to ensure seamless service.
• Plan and delegate daily tasks, manage scheduling and workforce planning.
• Control inventory, monitor costs and support budgeting initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, hygiene standards and ISO 22000 guidelines.
• Drive upselling, special promotions and proactive guest engagement to boost commercial performance.

Required profile

• Several years of experience in Food & Beverage service, preferably in a hotel restaurant environment.
• Leadership experience in a similar role.
• Fluent in German and English; additional languages are a plus.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and work flexible shifts.

Required skills

• Knowledge of food safety regulations and ISO 22000 standards.
• Inventory control and cost‑management expertise.
• Upselling and guest‑service techniques.
