Associate Benefits Officer

About the role

The United Nations Office at Geneva is seeking an Associate Benefits Officer to join the Medical Insurance Section of the Financial Resources Management Service. Reporting to the Chief, Medical Insurance, the incumbent will ensure smooth delivery of medical insurance services to UN staff and clients while maintaining high standards of client satisfaction and operational continuity.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the Administrative Unit and manage performance of general service staff.
• Plan staff resources to guarantee uninterrupted client support and business continuity.
• Provide first‑hand assistance on membership, reimbursements, documentation, accounting, and interpretation of insurance rules.
• Respond to complex client and colleague queries and compile monthly statistics and reports.
• Recommend and implement process improvements for medical insurance services.
• Act as focal point for IT applications used in medical insurance, including accounting and financial reporting tools.
• Prepare presentations, communications, and follow‑up on client satisfaction surveys.
• Support training on medical insurance systems for UNSMIS staff.
• Assist in managing contractual services and ensure accurate accounting and internal controls.

Required profile
