Automation Lead - Core Banking & Satellite Applications

About the role

Julius Baer is looking for an Automation Lead to head test automation design, development and innovation for Core Banking and Satellite applications. The role manages a team of test automation engineers, SDETs and load and performance engineers, and designs and implements test automation frameworks on on-premise and cloud platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design test automation frameworks covering UI, API automation, service virtualization, CI/CD and test tool (JIRA, Xray) integration
• Lead and manage test automation teams so that automation initiatives align with business and technical goals
• Work with project stakeholders in core banking and satellite applications to gather requirements and define goals and solutions
• Promote adoption of the latest tech stacks and industry-standard practices
• Maintain automation and performance test repositories integrated with deployment pipelines, and review and track team artefacts
• Define test strategy, automation approach, environment and test data management plans, and report status while raising risks and recommending solutions
• Manage internal and external stakeholders, including IT risk, and build strong project teams with clear communication
• Act in line with regulatory, risk and compliance standards, ensuring timely delivery to the required quality

Required profile

• Minimum 12-15 years of experience driving test automation strategies and technical solutions
• Private banking experience, including Temenos T24 Core banking, preferred
• Agile experience (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
• Ability to lead teams effectively across locations

Required skills

• Test automation frameworks and tools such as Cucumber, API testing, Selenium and Playwright
• Java expertise
• CI/CD tool stack (GitLab preferred) and cloud technologies (Azure preferred)
• Kubernetes and Docker, Linux, and streaming platforms such as Confluent Kafka or IBM MQ
• Load and performance testing with JMeter, K6 and Playwright
• Observability tools such as Grafana, Dynatrace and Splunk
