Backend Application Developer – Core Specialist Tier

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Backend Application Developer to join a long‑term enterprise project in Basel. This 3‑year fixed‑term position focuses on designing, building, and maintaining secure, high‑performance backend systems for the utilities, energy, telecommunications, or financial sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and translate detailed business requirements into scalable server‑side designs and middleware components.
• Define functional and non‑functional runtime profiles, ensuring high availability, horizontal scalability, and strict security.
• Design and optimise relational database schemas, both normalized and denormalized, and configure ORM mappings.
• Develop, test, document, and support RESTful and SOAP web services within a micro‑service architecture.
• Implement identity federation using OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and SAML 2.0 across legacy and modern components.
• Manage isolated development, staging, and continuous‑testing environments and automate deployment workflows.
• Provide Tier‑3 defect analysis, root‑cause investigation, and permanent remediation in high‑load production systems.

Required profile

• 3‑5+ years of enterprise‑level software development experience in multi‑tier architectures.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with .NET Framework (including 4.0) and .NET Core.
• Proven ability to work independently on complex technical challenges and deliver robust solutions.
