Backend Developer

About the role

Akselos is looking for a Backend Developer to design, build, and maintain the backend services and APIs that power its cloud‑based high‑performance computing simulation platform. You will work closely with frontend developers, simulation engineers, and product teams to ensure scalability, security, and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Develop core backend features, profile services, identify bottlenecks, and optimise performance for safety‑critical, industrial‑scale applications.
• Audit code pipelines, mitigate security vulnerabilities, conduct peer reviews, and create automated testing suites.
• Scale cloud resources on GCP or Azure, enhance CI/CD pipelines, and implement modern logging, diagnostics, and monitoring frameworks.
• Collaborate with global teams on system interfaces and technical requirements, and make minor frontend widget adjustments using TypeScript/React when needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least two years of professional backend development experience with cloud‑based distributed systems.
• Strong analytical thinking, collaborative mindset, fluent English communication, and eligibility to work in Switzerland.
