Backend Engineer - Extensions

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer – Extensions to join a fast‑growing AI‑focused partner in Switzerland. In this role you will design, build and scale backend services that enable advanced, AI‑driven capabilities for enterprise customers across multiple industries.

Key responsibilities

• Own the reliability, scalability and performance of backend extension capabilities for enterprise‑level deployments.
• Design, develop and maintain distributed workflows that are efficient, observable, reproducible and resilient in production.
• Collaborate with data scientists and cross‑functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust engineering solutions.
• Monitor system bottlenecks and continuously improve latency, throughput and operational efficiency.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and evolve backend infrastructure to integrate with broader platform services.
• Write clean, maintainable and thoroughly tested Python code while promoting high engineering standards.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge‑sharing practices.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience.
• Strong ownership mentality and ability to drive projects from concept to deployment.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills with a focus on software quality, performance and maintainability.
• Proven ability to work effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
